Take the example of managing book returns in a library. When hundreds of loans are due on the same day, it can create significant bottlenecks. To address this challenge, we developed Cockpit, an intranet designed for the Renouvaud network, the largest library network in Vaud, fully compatible with the Alma management system. Cockpit includes several automation applications to simplify librarians’ daily tasks.

Context
The Renouvaud network sought to optimize several processes, particularly return management. Previously, librarians had to manually adjust return dates to avoid an overwhelming number of books being due on the same day, which was time-consuming and repetitive.

Solution
Cockpit includes an application that automatically distributes return dates across multiple days. This system, integrated with Alma, significantly reduces the workload in a seamless manner.
